ASO HOUSE
阿蘇五岳を一望できる外輪山に広がる棚田状の田畑の一角に建つ住宅の計画である。
阿蘇の美しい四季や高原環境の中で、野菜を育てながら、ゆっくりとした老後の生活を楽しめると共に、帰省してきた子供家族達が自然の環境を楽しめるような住宅を求められた。
なだらかな外輪山の地形に沿う片流れ屋根の平家とすることで周りの緑と調和し、周辺からの阿蘇山への眺望に配慮するような住宅の建ち方がこの場所にふさわしいのではと考えた。屋根の下は南北に大きな開口を持ったリビングを中心に土間とキッチン、多用途に使えるルームを緩やかに連続させる構成とした。庭いじりや農作業で頻繁に外部と内部を行き来できるようにする必要があったことと、機能ごとに生活が分断されることがないようにするためである。また、大開口によって風が通り抜け、光が溢れることで住宅の中に庭の環境をできるだけ引き込めればと考えた。ルームは普段は間仕切りを開け放して大きなリビングと使い、子供家族が寝るときには区切って寝室として使うこともできる。冬には薪ストーブと太陽光を利用して温室のような環境とすることで野菜の苗を育てるスペースにもなる。
生活の様々なシーンが連続することで阿蘇の環境と共にあるような住宅になればと思う。
This project is a residential house located on a portion of terraced farmland along the outer rim of the Aso caldera, offering panoramic views of The Five Mountains of Aso.The clients envisioned a place where they could cultivate vegetables and enjoy a slow-paced life during their later years, while also welcoming their children and grandchildren to spend time in nature whenever they return home.
The house takes the form of a single-story structure with a mono-pitched roof that follows the gentle topography of the outer rim. By integrating with the surrounding greenery and maintaining unobstructed views toward Mount Aso, the building seeks an appropriate presence within its landscape.
Beneath the roof, a living room with generous openings to the north and south connects gently to a doma, a kitchen, and a flexible room. This open and continuous arrangement allows frequent movement between indoors and outdoors during gardening and farm work, while avoiding a rigid separation of functions. Large openings invite wind and daylight deep into the house, drawing the garden environment into its interior.The flexible room can remain open as part of the living space in everyday use, or be partitioned to serve as a bedroom when family visits.In winter, the synergy of the wood stove and solar gain can also produce a greenhouse-like environment suitable for growing vegetable seedlings.
By allowing various daily scenes to unfold continuously, the house hopes to be a place that lives alongside the landscape of Aso.
