ASO HUT
10㎡ほどの小さな小屋の計画である。
敷地は南阿蘇にあり、小さな農園を営む施主のための、趣味や作業のための小屋として計画された。
小屋は、母屋の北東側に阿蘇山を正面に望み、通りから隣人を迎え入れるような場所に位置している。
そして、山に向かって水平に大きく開放できるよう、４枚の大きな突き出し窓を設けた。
窓を開けると、水平いっぱいに山と空が広がり、大きな建具が庇のように日陰をつくって半屋外のようになり、阿蘇の高原の環境を楽しむことができる。
大きく窓を開けた小屋はアイコンのようになり、日陰の下に近所の友人が立ち寄りお茶を飲んだり、将来的には棚を置いて野菜や物を売ることもできるような場所になっている。
作業や物を保管する場所としてだけではなく、様々な使われ方の想像が広がる小屋のあり方を考えた。
This project is a small hut of approximately 10㎡, designed for a client who runs a small farm in Minami-Aso.It was conceived as a space for hobbies and daily agricultural work.
The hut is located to the northeast of the main house, positioned to face Mount Aso directly while also serving as a welcoming presence for neighbors approaching from the street.
Four large top-hinged awning windows were installed, allowing the facade to open widely and horizontally toward the mountains. When the windows are opened, the view expands across the entire width of the hut, framing the mountains and sky as a continuous horizontal panorama. The large open panels function like deep eaves, casting shade and transforming the interior into a semi-outdoor space, where one can comfortably enjoy the unique environment of the Aso highlands.
With its fully opened facade, the hut takes on an iconic presence within the site.
Beneath the shaded area, neighbors can casually stop by for tea, and in the future, shelves may be added to sell vegetables or other goods.
Rather than serving solely as a workspace or storage shed, the hut was designed as a flexible place that invites a variety of uses and encourages imagination in how it can be inhabited.
